SYS-FIT ModPod Instructions

With each SYS-FIT ModPod ordered, you should receive the SYS-FIT ModPod and the required M4 x 0.7mm fasteners.  The SYS-FIT ModPods are designed to work with any of our SYS-FIT Rail Racks, our SYS-PLT Mounts or our SYS-MNT Accessory Mounting locations.  To begin installation you will need the following:

  1. SYS-FIT ModPod
  2. Supplied M4 fasteners
  3. Screwdriver (not supplied)
  4. 3mm Hex Drive bit or allen wrench (not supplied)
  5. Cup of coffee or other adult beverage

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. To start, simply take the provided M4 fasteners and insert it thru the mounting holes on the ModPod.  If you purchased any SYS-FIT Rail Rack you can mount your ModPods to your rack before or after rack installation.
  2. If you are using a ModPod with one of our SYS-FIT Rail Racks, remove the cover(s) on the rack to allow access to ModPod mounting locations.
  3. After the fasteners are thru the ModPod assembly, thread the M4 fasteners into the mounting locations on your rail rack, SYS-PLT or SYS-MNT.
  4. Tighten the M4 fasteners with a 3mm Hex Drive bit or wrench.
  5. Take a drink and populate your new SYS-FIT ModPod with all your needed accessories

NOTES

  • The SYS-FIT Caliper ModPod has been designed and tested with various different calipers including both small and large Mitutoyo units, as well as the Shaper Connected Caliper.  For larger Mitutoyo and the Shaper Connected Calipers, you will need to place the Caliper ModPod on the right hand side of our rail racks to allow for the calipers to not collide with the rails mounting surface.
  • If you are using the SYS-FIT Magnetic ModPod in concert with our SYS-DST MagDock and are finding alignment difficult, rotate the magnet in the ModPod assembly to help align the magnetic poles.  The magnet in the MagDock has been assembled with Loctite to prevent the connection from backing out, so adjustments need to be made on the ModPod side.
