A clamping square that sets up without tools, works with the quick clamps already on your bench, and stays useful after the glue-up. Cardo Square started as a fix for clamping squares that take tools to assemble or rely on fiddly threaded L-brackets. Its aluminum angles attach with tool-free Corso Tack dogs and take any standard quick clamp.

When the assembly is done, lay it flat or register it to your 20mm dog grid, and it becomes a datum to press work against — for Domino joinery, planing, or any setup that wants a square stop. It was designed around the Systainer³ S 76 from the start: the full kit lives in one FORG3D Edition S 76, within reach on the shop shelf and ready to go out the door with mobile professionals working in the field.

  • No tools, no fiddly brackets: The aluminum angles attach with Corso Tack dogs that tighten by hand. No wrench, no driver, no threaded L-bracket to fight.
  • Works with the clamps you own: Built around any standard quick clamp already on your bench.
  • Not a one-job tool: Off the glue-up, it is a bench datum. Lay it flat, or register it to a standard 20mm dog grid, and press work against it for Domino joinery, planing and stop work.
  • A milled 90° datum: Each Cardo Square is an L-body with a flat-milled inner corner. Both arms carry the slot, so one dog-hole setup gives two reference orientations — either arm can be the face.
  • One slot, two references: Drop a Corso dog through a hole and it locks into the bench below, so position is held by the bench grid. Give it a quarter turn into the channel and it becomes a T-nut, so position is held by the square. Same dog, same slot, same knob.
  • Fixed or sliding: Register one square with two Corso 16X in 96mm on-center bench holes. Register the second the same way with the Slot Grip and Slot Glide, or run them in the channel so the square slides along its slot and locks where the assembly needs it.
  • Flat clamping faces: Four aluminum angles attach to the squares with tool-free Corso Tack dogs, two per angle. They bear flat against the work where a round dog would mark it, and they are field-replaceable.
  • Stainless where it slides: The Corso Slot Grip is 303 stainless, so locking it down does not mar the anodized finish of the slot it grips.
  • No knurling on a reference face: Knurl appears only where it is grip. Every surface the work references against is smooth milled.
  • Designed around the S 76: Sized from the start to live in a Systainer³ S 76. The complete kit sits in a fitted insert in one FORG3D Edition S 76 — quick to grab in the shop, and built to travel for mobile professionals working on site.
Compatibility & Notes
  • Registers on any bench with 20mm dog holes on 96mm centers: SYS-SRF surfaces, Festool MFT and MFT-style tops.
  • Cardo is a woodworking reference: flat-milled aluminum, not a ground machinist square. It will square a carcase and give a face worth referencing; it is not an inspection square.
  • Cardo and Corso register and square. They do not hold work down against a cutter and do not replace a vacuum pod or clamp.
  • The slot and dogs are shared with Cardo 320 / 640, so the same Corso dogs work across the family.
